Summer Vacation... Not Really?... Just Busy

So many things going on in the Yakym house. With Father's Day tomorrow, I have been in the kitchen with my mom cooking and making tons of food for it. I love talking to my mom about what God has been doing in my life.
Like I just said, God has been doing a lot in my life even in the past couple days. I have had distractions in my life and I have finally removed those road blocks and I have been digging deeper in God's Word, praying more, and seeking His face.
One main thing that I have been learning is all about God's love and just how much He should be my number one friend that I go to all the time. He isn't going to disappoint me, and He can't fail me.
I really believe I am almost ready to go off thousands of miles away. I have been reading this book that I got for graduation, and the first chapter did it for me. It talked about being complete in CHRIST and not other people. It fit EXACTLY what I needed. When I am far out of reach physically, I know that God will never move even though I have to another country. I can't wait to see what God has for my life to come in the next few months in preparation for Africa!
~God Bless~

Real Life Begins

Wow, what a week it has been in my life this week! My open house on Friday was so much fun and my graduation was a memory I will never forget.
I thought I had a job that I would start the day after graduation, but it seems to not have worked out so I am out of a job and desperately looking for another. If anyone in the South Bend area knows of any options for a full time summer job, let me know!
God is doing a lot in my life right now, so if you could all be praying for me in a lot of decisions that I am making now concerning Africa, other possible trips, and job opportunities, I would appreciate it so much!
God has really blessed me in each area in my life and I am so excited about what He is doing! God is so good all the time and I am putting my faith and full trust in Him through everything!

1 WEEK FROM TODAY!!

I am going to graduate in one week from today! WOW! That is so crazy! I never EVER thought I would get to this point in my life. God has been so good to me this year through a lot of hard times. He always proves Himself faithful and true through everything!
Just get me through Thursday afternoon and I will be done with finals. Friday we have two official classes but it is full of "MASS FRIVOLITY", as my great history teacher, Mr. Wellin would say.
Have a great week and remember, Keep God First in everything!

Support

It is so encouraging when I see a new amount of what I have raised and I praise God for it every time. I pray that God especially blesses the people who have so sacrificially given to allow me to go on this mission trip.  I still have A LOT to raise in the next four short months, so as the Lord leads, I am asking you to prayerfully consider supporting me as you see fit. Thank you for your prayers! I need them so much with preparing in every way possible!

2 Weeks From Today!

WHAT?! IT'S TIME TO GRADUATE?!?! Since when was I old enough to finally walk down the aisle with my outfit of a cap and gown with the 18 other classmates that I have been with since 5th grade? I am going to really miss everyone! All the time we have spent in arguing and not being unified to now... SENIORS AND UNIFIED! I have loved and enjoyed this year so much! Even though the challenges have come more than usual, I am still strong and trusting in God all the more.
God has been really good in everything. While I was on Senior Trip at the Wilds with my class and other schools, I learned so much more about God and myself related to Africa. So many great messages with the subjects from finding the right mate to surrendering your life to Him everyday. God has been working in my heart and life every day and just taking it one step at a time through it all.
The two main things on my mind.... GRADUATION and meeting my great friend Jed! :)

Mission Trip Thoughts

There are so many things to do in preparing for Africa. Am I ready now? NO! Will I be in a few months? I believe God has been and will prepare me for His work. I am so excited for what He has already done in my life. While I am waiting on Him I am going to serve Him with all I have in me!

Crazy times

Sometimes it is rather hard to see God's hand in every situation, but I am learning that He has a purpose in everything and I am to follow Him with my life and never turn back.  Yesterday, a lot happened in my life that I did not understand. It all happened at our game it seemed.  First, in the Junior Varsity game, a freshman landed on his arm, this breaking it. In the Varsity game, it seemed as though we were not cheering all that well.  In the fourth quarter one of my classmates was going for the ball and before I knew it he was laying in front of the cheerleaders in pain. He hurt his ankle but is hopefully not out for the rest of the season.
I have a heart for the elderly and I love them so much. There is a woman in Ohio from my mom's childhood that has been sick for years and her health is going down rather quickly. I want to get to this woman and witness Christ's love to her, but with everything going on we can't get over there for a long four to five hour drive yet.
So I was at home with my heart broken for especially these three people and someone encouraged me with Psalm 26:1-2 and it says, "Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity. I have also trusted in the Lord: I shall not slip.  Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my mind and my heart."

Busy busy busy....

Wow, it is almost Friday and I don't feel ready for it at all! Cheerleading is grabbing all my attention and I have not gotten a lot of my letters ready yet!  Finals just finished and a new semester is in the making.  It is so crazy to know that I am entering the final few months of my senior year. I am growing up...
